Describe the main features of bones that enables them to perform their function:

F1 - Bones tissues are a specialized connective tissue which make up bones. Other tissue which make up bones are bone marrows, nerves, blood vessels, and cartilage.

F2- Bones are organs because a group of tissues are involved that perform a specific function.

F3- Bones come in a variety of shapes, light weighted yet strong and hard. This function as to protect internal organs, such as the skull protects the brain or the ribs protect the abdomen.

F4- Bones are semi-rigid and porous, that form part of the endoskeleton of vertebrates. This provide shape and a frame to keep the body supported.

F5- Bones, skeletal muscles, tendons, ligaments, and joints function together in movement.

F6- The bone marrow located in the cavity of long bones produce red and white blood cells,

F7- Bones are mineralized organs act as reserves of minerals , such as calcium and phosphorus.
