Meiosis Class

Form 4 girls are learning Meiosis..Its something new because they hv never learn about it before. Meiosis is another type of CELL DIVISION besides Mitosis.

They have learnt Mitosis and the phases ...PMAT ..They have learnt the importance or the significant of Mitosis. I have asked them to draw and label all the phases in Mitosis in Bio Diagram Book.

Reminding and emphasising the importance of this chapter!!
And I make them draw all the phases in MEIOSIS too...
I make them really focus on the behaviour of the chromosomes in EACH PHASES..

I believe that by drawing and labelling (at least for a few times), will make them remember more of all the phases.
They draw all the phases by completing the module..
and later they are going to draw again in their Bio Diagram Book..
My girls have no complain about it...because they know that they have to learn it in a hard way in order to score A+ for BIO..
Practice makes perfect....and I'm very sure that this chapter will be asked in SPM examination
( paper1 and Paper 2)...So make sure ALL OF YOU out there, please master this chapter and you wont regret :)

Your Task :
DRAW AND LABEL ALL THE PHASES IN MEIOSIS.
For each phases, write at least 2-3 sentences to show the chromosomes behaviours !

FAQ- Reproduction in Human Part 1

They are learning Reproduction this week..Its so tiring to explain without the aid of teaching courseware..just because I want to make it fast ...to complete the syllabus before their Trial Examination which is just around the corner ! No module, no teaching courseware...strictly TALK or... a nicer word LECTURE !

The chapter is important for SPM examination. I'm focusing and emphasising on the following content:

1. Spermatogenesis - The diagram of the cross section of seminiferous tubule
2. Spermatogenesis- The flow chart showing the process starting with germa primordial cell...and end up with spermatozoa.

3. Oogenesis - The diagram of the cross section of ovary. Watch out for the Follicles, primary follicle, Graafian follicle, Corpus luteum.
4.Oogenesis - The flow chart showing the process which ends up with ovum being released while the other 3 degenerate.

5. The menstrual cycle which involves 4 hormones . The interaction between the four...With FSH is the first to rise , followed by oestrogen, next the LH and finally progesterone...YES..it is a negative feedback mechanism where one hormone controls the other hormone..

6. THE GRAPH of the menstrual cycle..Most of Bio reference books produced a good graph to memorise...but...dont get too complicated. Just choose at least 3-4 sentences to memorise for each hormones reaction to answer essay questions..would be fine .

You may be asked to draw graph OR to explain event !
