F1- Air movement/ Wind

E1-movement of air carries away water molecules that have diffused from the leaves.

E2-the faster the air movement / wind speed, the greater the rate of transpiration.

F2- Temperature

E3-rise in temperature increases the kinetic energy of water molecules

E4-increases the rate of evaporation (lowers the relative humidity of the air)

F3- Light intensity

E5-light intensity is increased, the rate of evaporation from a plant increases (not that light affects evaporation as such)

E6-but that it causes the stomata to open,

E7-thereby increasing water loss from the plant

F4- Relative humidity/Humidity

E8- High humidity surrounding the leaves reduce the evaporation of water from the stomata

E9-this causes transpiration to slow down

Cross section of arteries,veins and capillary.

It is important for you to know the differences in STRUCTURE and FUNCTION between the three:
1.arteries,
2.veins and
3.capillary.

It can be asked in Paper 2 SPM.....And i hope these Diagrams would help !

Microscope Skill

It is debateble...when the lecturers of IPTA complained that when our school SPM leavers entered varsity and colleges..they do not know how to handle microscope..Dont blame the teachers.As far as I am concerned I will always make a point that they have this microscope skills...Preparing them for a higher level of education..And..they enjoyed observing cells and all micro stuff under it..
..Not forgetting, always start with low power...before changing it to higher power...Identifying the structures and draw accordingly..And use both eyes open when observing under microscope..
What they observed that day was the cross section of arteries, veins and capillary. Draw and label...And compare the three..It is included in our Bio syllabus...AND they are again form 5 Helpilia girls..






Lymphatic system

..And The lymphatic system is a new system for the form 5 girls. Its tough to explain without the teaching aids...Maybe by using Teaching Course ware, a chart, and a Diagram would be a great help.
And I asked them to draw and label the important components of the system..They draw it in their BIO DIAGRAM book..and also, answer the module by filling up the blanks with the correct terms..One lesson should be fine to answer and refer to any reference books....And this system is a complementary of the Blood Circulatory System..AND...

TSA/V Ratio Concept

It is definitely difficult to understand the concept of TSA/V ratio unless you yourself calculate and discover the figures...And that was what I did with all my form 5 girls. Before ther are able to compare unicellular organism with multicelular organisms...let them find out the differences between the TSA/V RATIO of the two...by calculating...

And the conclusion:

The smaller size organism has higher TSA/ V Ratio..
...The smaller the size of the organism, the higher is the TSA/V ratio.

OR

AS the size of the organism increases, the TSA/ V ratio DECREASES..
