My Answer to Maxis Qs

Maxis has asked me a few questions via comment box a few days back. Hope these answers help :)

Question 1:

Yes..You can rely on the answers in KP Tahun2 lepas. Of course SPM marking scheme will provide alternatives of answers but you can only find one choice answer from buku Kertas Pep Tahun2 Lepas by sasbadi.

Question 2:

You may use any reference books. Each reference book has its own elaboration on certain chapters. Some books highlighted certain chapters while others don’t. So its up to you to choose which book to refer for each chapters. Terms like Thromboplastin ~ thrombokinase, vertebral foramen ~ vertebrarterial canal…and even sensory neurone~ afferent neurone…In answering for SPM, you can write any of the two…you are correct. Don’t worry about the terms..as long as it is the same structure …

Question 3 . How to identify the points required for structured / essay question ?

You have to start revising using KEYWORDS You have to study in sequence for answers which involved mechanism…or process..

You can use FACTS and EXPLANATION for your Essay..**May refer to my previous postings for examples of answering paper 2.

Question 4:

Describe the locomotion of an earthworm , 5m .

Your answer :

Body of an earthworm is made up of circular muscle and longitudinal muscle which work antagonistically .

When the circular muscles contract , the longitudinal muscles relax and the posterior segment extend and becomes longer .

When the circular muscles relax , the longitudinal muscles contract and the anterior segment becomes shorter and the chaetae anchor to the ground .

The earthworm is made up of hydrostatic skeleton .

Another one , how do I answer essay question about locomotion ( muscles involved in walking ) ?

My suggestion:

If it carries 10 marks, points to be included:

· A pair of muscles (name it)..skeletal muscles

· Antagonistic, one contract, the other one relax

· The role of tendon to transfer force to the bone

· The role of ligament

· The role of joint

· To affect movement

♠ Study Tips

Early Morning hours is the best time to study as you wake up refreshed away from all sorts of disturbances. The ions in the environment is said to be lower in the early mornings hours (3 am - 6 am ) which makes the morning hours the best time to study more things in the least possible time. Here are 3 other reasons why morning hours is the best to study.

1.You wake up refreshed - Early in the morning you wake up refreshed and stays clear headed. I advise this based on my experience as I was able to learn any amount of topics in the morning compared to evening hours.

2.Helps better memory - After sleep, processing and learning is said to improve based on recent studies. Revising your lessons early morning helps to remember the contents on a specific topic better.

3.Helps better focusing - There will be very less distractions in the morning compared to any other time of the day and a focused learning is possible in the morning.

The ideal time of morning hours of 3 am - 6 am is said to be the best time. A half an hour nap afterward will help you to better refresh your mind. Avoid learning for more than 3 hours in a stretch and take some short breaks of 10 minutes in between your study time.
